Our restored farmhouse was saved from demolition and rebuilt identically using natural, reclaimed materials. We made museums out of two farm cottages to preserve their history including old kitchens, renaissance furniture and wood paneling from the Middle Ages. Passionate about heritage and a member of the local heritage association, I share my passion for gardens and for traditional Alsace houses with my guests. As I live in the farm, I spend time and sometimes share a meal with my guests and offer them fresh fruits or eggs. Many of them come back.

My house, built in the 19th century and with a traditional wooden frame, is a former tannery. Its exposed beams and location at the edge of the canal Muhlwasser, make it particularly attractive for travellers willing to stay in a typical place in Alsace! The district of Robertsau, the most rural part of the town, has been largely preserved from urbanization from the 19th century :)

The water mill of Chappes, dating from 1884, was built in the riverbed of the Seine. This former paper mill is listed as a “Heritage of France” building. The imposing building, with a 600sqm floor space , is made of Burgundy stones. This frost-proof stone, carved by hand, prevents moisture climbing up the long supporting walls. Our travelers are delighted to have a unique experience : a visit to the old machinery from 1908 but also access to the private island for swimming and relaxation. A unique stay in an unusual setting.
